This site is maintained by BDD survivors, and also receives contributions from the world’s leading BDD experts. The mission of BDDCentral is to offer a safe and supportive place to communicate and learn, educate the public through outreach programs, and offer updated resources (such as an up-to-date treatment provider directory and recommended literature) to help sufferers and their loved ones. The Body Dysmorphic Disorder and Body Image Program is one of the few specialty programs in the country for body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). The program is located at Butler Hospital, part of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. It is directed by Katharine A. Phillips, M.D. Dr. Phillips is internationally known for her pioneering clinical and research work on BDD. The Body Image Program does research studies to learn more about the characteristics and treatment of BDD in order to improve the lives of people who suffer from this disorder.

Are you preoccupied or obsessed with a perceived physical
flaw or an imagined defect in your appearance? Do you spend
hours looking in mirrors, or do you avoid them entirely
because you don't like the way you look? Do you often
compare yourself to others and think they always look
better than you?
If you have answered yes to any of the above questions,
please consider attending the Body Image Support Group at
Mission Oaks Hospital in Los Gatos. This support group
meets on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month from 12 pm -
1:30 pm.
